US News: “The House intelligence committee has invited former acting Attorney General Sally Yates to testify in connection with its investigation into Russia’s interference in the 2016 presidential election and the Kremlin’s links to the Trump campaign.”

“The invitation comes after a hearing at which Yates was scheduled to testify last month was abruptly canceled, generating partisan outcry amid reports that the Trump administration tried to block her testimony.”

“…The delay prompted outrage from Democrats, who accused [committee Republican chairman, Rep. Devin Nunes of California] – a member of Trump’s transition team – of seeking to delay the investigation at the behest of the White House and to avert further disclosures that could damage the president.”

“Nunes earlier this month recused himself from the committee’s Russia investigation, citing allegations currently under investigation that he revealed classified information in the course of the probe.”
